A driver has been charged in relation to a crash in Sydney’s south-west, which resulted in serious injuries earlier this year.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of Memorial Avenue and the T-Way, Liverpool, just after 11am on Saturday 8 February 2020, following reports a bus and a Toyota Avalon had collided.
The Toyota driver, a 58-year-old man, and two passengers – a 50-year-old woman and a 12-year-old girl – all suffered serious injuries after being trapped in the vehicle.
They were all hospitalised in a critical condition; however they have since been released.
The bus driver, a 62-year-old man and two passengers, a 40-year-old woman and a 12-year-old boy were all treated for minor injuries.
Officers from Liverpool City Police Area Command attended and with assistance of the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit commenced an investigation.
Following inquiries, the Toyota driver was charged with the following offences: two counts of dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm – drive manner dangerous, two counts of cause bodily harm by misconduct, in charge of motor vehicle, negligent driving (occasions grievous bodily harm), and proceed through red traffic light (not toll booth) on Thursday 23 July 2020.
He is due to appear before Liverpool Local Court today (Monday 7 September 2020).
