NSW police charge man after armed robbery at Avoca Beach

A man will face court today charged over an alleged armed robbery on the Central Coast earlier this month.

Police will allege in court a man entered a grocer on Avoca Drive, Avoca Beach, and threatened the female attendant with a knife about 9.45am on Sunday 5 July 2020.

The man fled the scene with a sum of cash.

Officers from Brisbane Water Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.

Following extensive inquiries, detectives attended a unit on Karalta Road, Erina, and executed a search warrant.

A 28-year-old man was arrested at the property and taken to Gosford Police Station.

He was charged with robbery armed with an offensive weapon and was refused bail to appear at Gosford Local Court today (Friday 24 July 2020).
