NSW police charge man after brawl at Lake Cargelligo

A man has been charged after an alleged brawl in the state’s central west last night.

About 9.10pm yesterday (Wednesday 29 September 2021), emergency services were called to the intersection of Reef Street and City Street, Lake Cargelligo, following reports of a large brawl.

Upon arrival the group dispersed from the area and police seized a number a weapons believed to be used in the brawl.

Following investigations, police arrested a 42-year-old man at a home in Murrin Bridge about 2.20am today (Thursday 30 September 2021).

He was taken to Lake Cargelligo Police Station where he was charged with affray and given conditional bail to appear at Lake Cargelligo Local Court on Wednesday 6 October 2021.

About 3am, today (Thursday 30 September 2021), a 29-year-old man was arrested at a home in Lake Cargelligo and taken to Lake Cargelligo Police Station.

Due to the man’s injuries from the brawl he was taken by NSW Ambulance Paramedics to Griffith Base Hospital for minor injuries.

The man is expected to be charged at a later date.

Inquiries are continuing into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
