NSW police charge man after drug supply investigation at Lightning Ridge

A man has been charged following an investigation into the alleged supply of prohibited drugs in the state’s North West.

Officers attached to Central North Police District Proactive Crime Team commenced an investigation into the supply of prohibited drugs in Lightning Ridge area.

Following inquiries, officers executed a search warrant at a home on Black Prince Drive, Lightning Ridge, about 12.45pm yesterday (Wednesday 23 April 2020).

During the search, officers allegedly located and seized cannabis, drug paraphernalia, cash, two ipads and a laptop. These items will be forensically examined.

A 59-year-old man was arrested at the property before being released.

Inquiries continue and charges are expected to be laid.

Central North Police District, Superintendent Andrew Hurst, encouraged those who may have information on the supply of prohibited drugs in the Lightning Ridge area to come forward.

“We will continue to target those who supply these illegal substances in our community.” Supt Hurst said.

“To assist us in doing this, we need the public’s help. If you have information that can help with our investigations, we would like to speak with you. Your information will be treated in strict confidence.”
