NSW police charge man after stabbing

A man has been charged following a stabbing in Sydney’s west yesterday.

Police will allege about 8.30pm (Saturday 30 March 2019), two men, believed to be known to each other, were involved in a verbal disagreement, which resulted in one man sustaining a stab wound to his arm and neck.

The injured man, a 44-year-old, attended Fairfield Hospital, before being transferred to Liverpool Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command were notified and attended the hospital.

Following inquiries, a crime scene was established at a property on Burley Road, Horsley Park.

About 9.45pm, a 47-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Fairfield Police Station where he was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The man was refused bail to appear in Parramatta Bail Court today (Sunday 31 March 2019).
