NSW police charge man over aggravated break and enters at Dubbo

A man has been charged following two aggravated break and enters at the same home in the state’s central west this week.

Between 5am and 5.30am yesterday (Wednesday 20 October 2021), an unknown man forced entry to a home on Siren Street, Dubbo.

The occupant – an 89-year-old woman – was confronted by the man and pushed to the ground before he ransacked the home and fled with cash.

The woman suffered minor injuries.

Just before 3am today (Thursday 21 October 2021), police responded to reports that the power had been deliberately cut to the same home on Siren Street, Dubbo and a person was attempting to gain entry.

Officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District attended a short time later, along with community members who chased a man from the premises.

The 41-year-old man was charged was arrested nearby in River Street and taken to Dubbo Police Station.

The man was charged with two counts of aggravated enter dwelling with intent – knowing people there, two counts of common assault and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

He was refused bail to appear at Dubbo Local Court today (Thursday 21 October 2021).
