NSW police charge man over intimidation of two women at local shops at Liverpool

Police have charged a man over the alleged intimidation of two women at a shopping centre in Sydney’s south west last month.

About 8.30am on Tuesday 1 October 2019, two women – aged 29 and 63 – were walking through a shopping centre at Liverpool, when they were approached by an unknown man.

The man shouted at the women, and as they attempted to move away from him, he allegedly made threats toward them.

The women reported the incident to security and left the shopping centre.

A short time later, the women saw the man again on George Street. They spoke to police officers, who were passing by, and advised them of the earlier incident.

The younger woman later provided a formal statement and officers from Liverpool City Police Area Command commenced inquiries.

Following inquiries, a 43-year-old man will be issued a Future Court Attendance Notice at a corrections facility at Parklea today (Monday 25 November 2019).

He will be charged with two counts of stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm.

The man remains in custody to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Thursday 5 December 2019.

Police are reminding the community that there is no place for intimidation, abuse, or violence of any type in NSW, and urge anyone who believes they are a victim of or a witness to this type of behaviour to contact their local police station.
