NSW police charge man over robbery, appeal to find second man at Albury

A man has been charged, and police are appealing for information to locate a second man, as investigation continue into an alleged aggravated robbery in the state’s Murray River region earlier this month.

Just after 5.30am on Saturday 20 November 2021, officers from Murray River Police District were called to Storey Street, Springdale Heights, after reports of an assault and vehicle theft.

Police will allege in court that a 25-year-old man was assaulted by two other men, before his wallet, keys and Commodore Station Wagon were stolen.

The man suffered lacerations to his head, arms and body.

Officers attached to Murray River Police District were notified and commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, police attended a unit on Prune Street, Springdale Heights, just after 11.30am on Friday (26 November 2021).

A 26-year-old man, who was wanted by virtue of an arrest warrant, was arrested and taken to Albury Police Station.

He was charged with aggravated robbery in company – serious indictable offence, and aggravated take and drive motor vehicle with person in/on it with intent to inflict actual bodily harm.

The Springdale Heights man appeared in Albury local Court today (Monday 29 November 2021) where he was formally refused bail to re-appear in the same court on Tuesday 8 February 2022.

As inquiries continue, police would like to speak with a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries. He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 185cm tall, with blond hair.
