A man will appear in court today charged over the alleged sexual assault of a teenage girl in Sydney’s north west.
Last month, detectives from the State Crime Command’s Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad commenced an investigation following reports 14-year-old girl had been sexually assaulted by a man who was known to her.
Police were told the man communicated with the girl through several social media platforms and arranged to meet her, before sexually assaulting her at a home in Sydney’s north west.
Following extensive inquiries, a 21-year-old man was arrested at Tumut just after 2.30pm yesterday (Monday 2 November 2020).
The man was taken to Tumut Police Station and charged with three counts of have sexual intercourse with child (between 14 and 16 years).
He was refused bail to appear at Wagga Wagga Local Court today (Tuesday 3 November 2020).
The Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad is comprised of detectives who are specially trained to investigate matters against children and adults, including sexual assault, serious physical abuse, and extreme cases of neglect.
