A man will face court later this month over the alleged theft of copper wire in the state’s Central West last year.
In October last year, officers attached to the Rural Crime Prevention Team and Orana Mid-Western Police District commenced an investigation after reports copper wire had been stolen from a business in Aarons Pass Road, Aarons Pass.
Police believe it was stolen between Saturday 17 October 2020 and Friday 23 October 2020.
It is believed over a tonne of copper wire was stolen, which is estimated to be worth $13,250.
A Polaris buggy was also stolen during the second incident, and was located on fire at Bocoble Road, Bocoble, about 10.40pm on the evening of Friday 23 October. It was completely destroyed.
Following extensive inquiries, about 12.30pm yesterday (Monday 11 October 2021), a 23-year-old man with a Court Attendance Notice for the offences of larceny and dispose property-theft.
He will appear at Mudgee Local Court on Wednesday 20 October 2021.
Investigation are ongoing.
