NSW police charge man with aggravated break, enter and steal

A man has been charged as part of an investigation into number of vehicles stolen in several break-ins in Sydney’s central metropolitan region.

Officers from South Sydney Police Area Command, with the assistance of other Central Metropolitan Region Commands, established Strike Force Palla to investigate the break ins, during which a number of high-performance vehicles were stolen.

Following extensive inquires, officers located and recovered a 2016 Mercedes C200 on Patterson Street, Ermington on Friday (29 November 2019) that had previously been stolen during an aggravated break in at Ryde.

About 2.30pm, police arrested an 18-year-old man at the Ermington address. He was taken to Granville Police Station and charged with aggravated break, enter and steal (x4), steal motor vehicle (x4) and breach of bail.

He appeared at Parramatta Local Court on Saturday (30 November 2019) and was refused bail to appear at Central Local Court on the Wednesday 4 December 2019.

Search warrants were then executed at both the Ermington address and an associated address on Livinstone Avenue, Botany where a number of items were seized in relation to the vehicle thefts.

Investigations continue.
