NSW police charge man with impersonating NSW Police Officer at Sawtell

A man will appear in court next month accused of impersonating a police officer in the state’s north.

About 5.20pm yesterday (Tuesday 16 April 2019), police will allege a 48-year-old man was travelling along Lyons Road, Sawtell in a black Ford Ranger.

He then approached two unknown males claiming to be an officer with the NSW Police Force.

Police were contacted and an investigation was launched.

Later that same day, officers attended a home on Sea Breeze Place, Boambee East where they seized a dashcam.

A 48-year-old man was arrested at the home and taken to Coffs Harbour Police Station.

He was charged with impersonating a police officer and granted conditional bail to appear at Coffs Harbour Local Court on Monday 13 May 2019.
