A man has been charged following the death of woman in an alleged domestic violence related incident in Fairfield earlier today.
About 12.10pm (Monday 30 November 2020), emergency services were called to a unit on Nelson Street, Fairfield, following a concern for welfare report.
A 42-year-old woman was found inside the unit with multiple injuries and died at the scene.
Officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command established a crime scene and arrested a 60-year-old man at the scene.
He was taken to Fairfield Police Station where he has now been charged with murder.
He was refused bail and will appear in Fairfield Local Court tomorrow (Tuesday 1 December 2020).
