NSW police charge man with murder at Yass

A man has been charged with murder after a man was allegedly stabbed during an altercation at a property near Yass.

About 2.45am on Monday (13 January 2020), emergency services were called to a property on Glenroy Road at Good Hope, 20km south-west of Yass, following reports a man had been stabbed.

On arrival, officers from The Hume Police District located a 35-year-old man suffering a serious stab wound. Despite attempts to revive him, he passed away at the scene.

A second man, also aged 35, was found nearby also suffering stab wounds and was taken to Canberra Hospital under police guard.

A knife was located and seized to undergo forensic examination.

Detectives from The Hume Police District commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Earlier yesterday (Tuesday 14 January 2020), the 35-year-old man was discharged from hospital.

He was arrested and taken to Goulburn Police Station, where he was charged with murder.

It will be alleged in court that the two men were known to each other.

The man was refused bail to appear in Goulburn Local Court today (Wednesday 15 January 2020).
