NSW police charge three after drugs and cash seized

Three men will face court today charged after prohibited drugs and cash were seized by officers from Redfern Region Enforcement Squad in Sydney’s Inner West.

Just after 5.30pm yesterday (Friday 22 May 2020), investigators, assisted by Bass Hill Region Enforcement Squad executed a search warrant at a unit on Edwin Street, Croydon.

During the search, police located 5L of gamma-Butyrolactone (GBL), methylamphetamine, cocaine, ketamine, MDMA, cannabis, knuckle dusters and more than $16,000 cash.

The items were seized and will undergo forensic testing.

Eight people – two women and six men – were arrested at the home and taken to Burwood Police Station.

A 30-year-old man was charged with eight offences including supply prohibited drug (large commercial quantity), supply prohibited drug (between indictable and commercial quantity x4), possess prohibited drug, deal with property proceeds of crime, and owner/occupier knowingly allow use as drug premises.

A 32-year-old man was charged with eight offences including supply prohibited drug (commercial quantity), knowingly deal with proceeds of crime, supply prohibited drug (between indictable and commercial quantity x4), supply prohibited drug (between small and indictable quantity), and owner/occupier knowingly allow use as drug premises.

A 51-year-old man was charged with possess prohibited drug, found on/entering/leaving drug premises, and breach of bail.

The men were all refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (Saturday 23 May 2020).

The other men and women were released pending further inquiries.

Investigations are continuing.
