NSW police charge two after investigations by SF Arpen

Two men have been charged as part of ongoing investigations into stealing offences by Strike Force Arpen.

In June 2019, investigators from North West, South West and Central Metropolitan Region Commands and the State Crime Command’s Criminal Groups Squad established Strike Force Arpen to investigate numerous thefts from retail stores across the Sydney Metropolitan area.

About 7am today (Wednesday 14 August 2019), officers attached to Strike Force Arpen executed a search warrant at a home on O’Meally Place, Harrington Park.

A 19-year-old man was arrested at the home. Officers seized electronic devices and other items allegedly associated with stealing offences.

The man was taken to Narellan Police Station and charged with larceny (x3), goods in custody, and participate in criminal group.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Picton Local Court on Tuesday 10 September 2019.

In a separate arrest, about 11.10am the same day, a 14-year-old boy, who was already in custody, was arrested by Strike Force Arpen investigators at Campbelltown Police Station.

The boy was charged with larceny (x5) and participate in criminal group.

He was returned to a correctional facility and is expected to face a Children’s Court on Monday 26 August 2019.
