NSW police charge two after man seriously injured during assault

Two men have been charged following an alleged assault which left a man in hospital near Mt Druitt overnight.

About 7.50pm yesterday (Saturday 24 December 2022), emergency services were called to a home on Luxford Road at Lethbridge Park, following reports of an altercation.

Upon arrival, police located a 40-year-old man with serious head injuries.

Responding police commenced CPR prior to the arrival of NSW Ambulance paramedics, before the man was taken to Westmead Hospital, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

Officers from Mt Druitt Police Area Command established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist forensic police.

Following inquiries, officers attended a home in Whalan shortly after midnight (Sunday 25 December 2022) and arrested two men, aged 27 and 40.

Both men were taken to Mt Druitt Police Station, where they were charged with affray, special aggravated break and enter and inflict grievous bodily harm.

Police will allege in court that the two men broke the man’s front door down and assaulted him repeatedly.

They were refused bail to appear before Parramatta Bail Court via AVL today (Sunday 25 December 2022).
