NSW police charge two men over drug and firearm supply

Two men have been charged following an investigation into the supply of prohibited drugs and firearms by Strike Force Raptor.

In June 2018, investigators from the Criminal Groups Squad’s Strike Force Raptor commenced an investigation into the supply of prohibited drugs and firearms across the state.

As part of their ongoing inquiries, Strike Force Raptor investigators with assistance from the Public Order and Riot Squad, Operation ODIN and the Dog Unit, executed two search warrants at a home in Chester Hill and a unit in Glebe about 6am today (Thursday 19 December 2019).

During the searches, officers seized a shortened semi-automatic rifle, ammunition, $600 cash, mobile phones, laptops and steroids.

An amount of liquid GBL (Gamma Butyrolactone), and cocaine was also seized.

A 23-year-old man was arrested at Chester Hill and taken to Bankstown Police Station where he was charged with 19 offences including; five counts of supply prohibited drug (commercial quantity), supply prohibited drug (large commercial quantity), two counts of unlicensed for class – prior offence, two counts of supply firearm to person unauthorised to possess it, larceny as bailee property value greater than $5000, use carriage service to menace/harass/offend, participate in criminal group contribute criminal activity, drive conveyance taken without consent of owner, goods in personal custody suspected being stolen, two counts of possess prohibited drug, possess unauthorised prohibited firearm, and possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority.

Police will allege the younger man supplied more than 560g of MDMA and more than 280g of methylamphetamine to another man between May and August 2019.

He was refused bail to appear at Bankstown Local Court today.

A 26-year-old man was arrested at Glebe and taken to Waverley Police Station where he was charged with supply prohibited drug, four counts of supply prohibited drug (commercial quantity), supply prohibited drug (large commercial quantity), take part supply prohibited drug (commercial quantity), and participate in criminal group contribute criminal activity.

Police will allege the older man received financial benefit for facilitating the drug transactions.

The man was refused bail to appear at Waverley Local Court today.

Investigations are continuing.
