NSW police charge two women over murder conspiracy

Detectives have charged two women over the alleged conspiracy to murder a man from Sydney’s east.

Last month, the State Crime Command’s Robbery and Serious Crime Squad received information about a conspiracy to murder a 30-year-old man.

Following extensive investigations, detectives, assisted by Central Metropolitan Region Operations Support Group, executed two search warrants at units in Balmain and Glebe about 6.30am yesterday (Friday 10 January 2020).

During the searches, police located cannabis, methylamphetamine, mobile phones, laptops and documents.

A 27-year-old Glebe woman and a 28-year-old Balmain woman were arrested and taken to Newtown Police Station.

They were both charged with conspire and agree to murder any person.

Police will allege in court that the women discussed plans to murder the man, who is known to the older woman. The plan was not enacted.

The pair were refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (Saturday 11 January 2020).

Investigations are continuing.
