A woman has been charged with high range PCA after she was stopped by police while driving with a child in her car in St Marys today.
Just after 12pm (Wednesday 4 May 2022), officers attached to Traffic and Highway Patrol Command stopped a Holden Barina on Boronia Road after allegedly detecting it travelling above the signed speed limit in the south bound lane.
Officers spoke to the driver – a 26-year-old woman – before she was subjected to a roadside breath test, which returned a positive result.
The woman – who holds a P2 driver’s licence and was travelling with an 11-month-old baby in her vehicle – was arrested and taken to St Marys Police Station.
She was subjected to a secondary breath analysis which returned an alleged reading of 0.206.
The woman was issued a Field Court Attendance Notice for drive with high range PCA (first offence), and infringement notices for exceeding the speed limit and not displaying P plates. Her driver’s licence was also suspended.
The woman will appear at Penrith Local Court on Thursday 2 June 2022.
