NSW police charge woman with weapons offences after police pursuit at Wagga Wagga

A woman will face court today charged with weapons and traffic offences following a pursuit in the Wagga Wagga CBD.

Shortly after 11am yesterday (Thursday 25 June 2020), a 25-year-old woman allegedly fled the scene of a police pursuit in the Wagga Wagga CBD.

She was arrested a short time later on Higgins Street and taken to Wagga Wagga Police Station.

Officers from the Wagga Region Enforcement Squad commenced inquiries and executed a search warrant at a home on Shaw Street, Wagga Wagga about 3pm.

Officers allegedly located and seized several gel blaster replica firearms, including a pistol revolver, pump action shotgun and assault rifle.

The 25-year-old woman was charged with possess prohibited firearm (x3), possess unauthorised firearm, possess ammunition, acquire firearm without permit, not keep/store firearm safe.

She was refused bail and is due to face Wagga Wagga Local Court today (Friday 26 June 2020).
