NSW police investigate shooting in Sydney’s west

Police are investigating after a woman with gunshot wounds presented to hospital in Sydney’s west last night.

About 6.45pm (Saturday 18 April 2020), police were called after the woman, aged 31, arrived at Westmead Hospital with a gunshot wound to her chest and arm.

She is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries and is in a stable condition.

During a search of the area, police found an abandoned car on Caroline Street, Westmead, and established a crime scene.

Officers from Cumberland Police Area Command are investigating the circumstances surrounding the woman’s injuries.
