An investigation is underway after fire destroyed a home in the state’s Northern Tablelands today.
About 2.30am (Thursday 24 February 2022), emergency services were called to a home on Elsmore Road, Elsmore, about 17km south of Inverell, following reports of a fire.
NSW Fire and Rescue arrived a short time later and extinguished the blaze; however, the home was destroyed.
No one was home at the time, and no injuries have been reported.
Officers attached to New England Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the blaze.
Police are treating the fire as suspicious and are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and noticed suspicious activity to come forward.
