NSW police lay charges after stolen car used in ram raids near Wagga Wagga

A man has been charged following an investigation into two aggravated robberies in the Wagga Wagga area earlier this year.

Between 12am and 2am on Saturday 6 June 2020, a silver Nissan Navara utility was stolen from a home on River Road, Gobbagombalin.

About 3.40am the same day, the utility allegedly drove into a supermarket on Gregory Crescent, Lake Albert. A group of men entered the store and stole groceries.

An hour later, the utility allegedly drove into a service station on Tumut Street, Adelong, before a group of males ran into the business and stole several items.

Officers from the Riverina Police District established two crime scenes and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding both robberies.

Following extensive inquiries, a 20-year-old man was arrested at a correctional facility in Silverwater earlier today (Wednesday 14 October 2020).

He was charged with four counts of aggravated break, enter and steal in company and be carried in conveyance without consent of owner.

The man was refused bail to appear in Wagga Wagga Local Court via AVL today (Wednesday 14 October 2020).
