A man is due to appear in court today charged over an alleged domestic-violence related assault on the Northern Beaches.
Emergency services were called to Hawksbury Avenue, Dee Why, about 5:20pm yesterday (Tuesday 19 February 2019), after reports a man had been assaulted.
Officers from the Northern Beaches Police Area Command arrived to find a 42-year-old man unconscious.
Police were told the man was walking with a 24-year-old woman and two young children, when he was allegedly assaulted by another man, who then fled the scene on foot.
The injured man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Royal North Shore Hospital for treatment for fractured ribs and cuts to his head.
While police were conducting inquiries, a 37-year-old man returned to the scene and was arrested.
He was taken to Manly Police Station and has been charged with three counts of aggravated break and enter, assault occasioning actual bodily harm (DV), and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Police will allege in court that the man attended a home on Hawkesbury Avenue on three separate occasions, acting in an intimidating manner and damaging a door at the unit.
He has been refused bail before his appearance in Manly Local Court today (Wednesday 20 February 2019).
