A man has been charged following investigations into an armed robbery at Chatswood and a stabbing at Manly last week.
About 1pm on Friday (11 June 2021), a man entered a retail store in a shopping centre on Anderson Street, Chatswood, before allegedly stealing clothing items.
It’s alleged the man left the store and when approached by a male staff member, he threatened him with a knife. The man fled and police were contacted.
In a separate incident, about 3.40pm the same day, emergency services were called to Raglan Street, Manly, following reports a man had been stabbed by an unknown man.
A 43-year-old man was treated at the scene before being taken to Northern Beaches Hospital. He underwent surgery and has since been discharged.
Officers from Northern Beaches Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Following inquiries, detectives attended Royal North Shore Hospital earlier today (Monday 14 June 2021), where they spoke to a 29-year-old man.
He was charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon and wound person with intent to cause previous bodily harm.
The man remains under police guard in a stable condition.
He is expected to appear at Manly Local Court via bedside hearing tomorrow (Tuesday 15 June 2021).
