NSW police locate almost 5kg of cannabis during vehicle stop at Dunedoo

A man has been charged with drug supply offences after almost 5kg of cannabis was found during a vehicle stop in the state’s central west.

About 11.10pm on Saturday (14 December 2019), officers attached to Orana Mid Western Police District were patrolling the Golden Highway near Dunedoo when they stopped a vehicle for the purpose of a random breath test.

After speaking with the driver, a man aged 44, police conducted a search of the vehicle and allegedly located numerous vacuum sealed bags containing cannabis.

Police seized almost 5kg of cannabis with an estimated street value of approximately $120,000, along with mobile phones and cash.

The man was arrested and taken to Dubbo Police Station where it is alleged he became aggressive and was taken to Dubbo Hospital for observation.

On release, the man was charged with supply prohibited drug – indictable quantity, possess prohibited drug and resist or hinder police officer in the execution of duty.

He was refused bail and appeared before Dubbo Local Court yesterday (Monday 16 December 2019) where he was granted conditional bail.

The man will reappear before Mudgee Local Court on Wednesday 5 February 2020.
