NSW police seek information after armed robberies at Nowra

Investigators are appealing for information following two robbery-related incidents on the state’s South Coast yesterday.

Police have been told about 12.50am (Sunday 28 November 2021), a 50-year-old man was walking along Mackay Street, Nowra, when he was approached by a group of unknown people, before being threatened with a weapon.

The man handed over his wallet which contained no money and the group fled empty handed after a passer-by intervened.

Officers attached to South Coast Police District were notified and commenced an investigation into the circumstances.

In a separate incident about 2am, a 26-year-old man was walking along Park Road, Nowra, before he was confronted by a group of unknown people, with one demanding his e-cigarette.

They threatened the man, before they stole his wallet and phone, and fled the scene on foot.

Both men were not physically injured, and police are now investigating whether the incidents are linked.

As part of inquiries, investigators are urging anyone with information – or dashcam footage from the areas at the time – to contact Nowra Police on (02) 4421 9699 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence.
