Police are re-appealing for information after a hit and run crash in Sydney’s west earlier this year.
About 7.20pm, Monday 20 April 2020 , officers attached to Fairfield Police Area Command were called to Maud Street, Fairfield West, following reports a car had hit a trailbike and driven off.
The rider, a 15-year-old boy was riding a Kawasaki trailbike south along Maud Street, when he was reportedly hit by a gold Toyota Camry at the intersection of Percy Street.
Police were told the Toyota driver stopped briefly and spoke to a resident in Percy Street, before driving off.
NSW Ambulance paramedics attended and took the teenager to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, where he was treated for a serious leg injury.
Officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit commenced an investigation.
As inquiries continue to identify the driver, investigators would like to speak to witnesses who have not yet spoken to police. In particular, a man described as being of Middle Eastern/Meditterean appearance, about 165cm to 170cm tall, of a medium build, with brown eyes, facial hair.
At the time time, he was wearing a dark hooded jumper, black shorts, blue and white stripped ‘Adidas’ slides with light coloured socks.
