NSW police update: Man charged after brawl at Forbes

A man has been charged and another remains in a critical condition after a brawl in the state’s Central West overnight.

About 11.15pm yesterday (Wednesday 29 September 2021), emergency services were called to Scrivener Street in Forbes, after reports of an alleged fight between a group of people.

Upon arrival, officers attached Central West Police District found a man lying on the road with injuries to his head, as well as a stab wound to his torso.

The 35-year-old was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Orange Base Hospital for treatment. He remains in a critical but stable condition.

Following investigations, about 5.15am today (Thursday 30 September 2021), police arrested an 18-year-old man at a home on Scrivener Street, Forbes.

The man was taken to Parkes Police Station, where he was charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

He was refused bail and is due to appear at Parkes Local Court today.

Inquiries are continuing into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
