NSW Police are reminding people about their responsibilities on the road following a number of serious crashes across the state in the last 24 hours.
Earlier today (Saturday 28 September 2019), a 23-year-old female died in a single vehicle crash in Old Junee, north of Wagga Wagga.
This follows the death of three people, in three separate incidents yesterday (Friday 27 September 2019).
A 25-year-old female passenger died in a three-vehicle collision in Ermington; a pedestrian, aged in his 50s, was hit and killed by a car in Canley Vale and a motorcyclist, aged 57, died when his bike collided with a utility in Forster.
Emergency services were also called to Gladesville last night (Friday 27 September 2019) when a car, driven by a woman in her 20s, rolled after hitting a parked car.
Police also attended Fairfield East this morning (Saturday 28 September 2019), when a 35-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured after a crash.
Traffic and Highway Patrol Commander, Assistant Commissioner Michael Corboy, said that even one life lost on our roads is one too many, especially when they could be prevented.
“We are working to reduce the lives lost in preventable tragedies on our roads.
“It is important that every driver, or rider, takes responsibility to ensure that safety is their number one priority when they are behind the wheel, or on their bike.
“Please slow down, wear your seatbelt, avoid handling mobile telephones, make certain you are adequately rested before driving, and take regular breaks to avoid fatigue.”
