NT Covid update 28 December

NT Government

The Northern Territory has recorded 16 new cases of COVID-19 since our last update.

Five new cases are linked to the NT outbreak, bringing the total number of cases for the cluster to 151.

The five cases are household contacts of previous cases in the Tennant Creek area. Four of the cases are in the Todd Quarantine Facility in Alice Springs, while the fifth case is in the Tennant Creek Hospital.

Four cases are interstate arrivals. One of the cases was in the community while infectious and attended a number of locations in Darwin. A number of low risk public exposure sites have been identified in relation to this case.

Five cases are close contacts of interstate arrivals and are all in isolation.

In addition, the source of infection in a case reported yesterday, has been confirmed as being acquired in the community. It is believed the woman in her 60s acquired the virus while at a Darwin City restaurant from a recent interstate arrival who was also there.
