NT Emergency Management Symposium

Together with the Department of Chief Minster and Cabinet, the NT Police, Fire and Emergency Services will host the NT Emergency Management Symposium in Katherine today. This is the first event of its kind held in the NT and will provide leaders in the emergency management sector an opportunity to come together and share knowledge, challenges, and plan for emergencies to come.

Over a two-day period, the event will include a series of speakers that will discuss emergency preparedness, as well as hot topics for the industry. The NT emergency management sector has experienced many learnings in the past few years and will be key discussion points at the Symposium.

Commissioner and CEO Mr. Michael Murphy APM said “This symposium embodies the spirit of mutual support and strengthening our network of helpers. As we confront the impacts of climate change and prepare for more frequent and severe hazards, our reliance on each other will be greater than ever.”

The Symposium will also feature this year’s NT Resilient Australia Awards which celebrate and promote initiatives that build whole of community resilience to disasters and emergencies in the NT, as well as images capturing resilience in action.
