NT Police Armed Offender Training Exercise – Casuarina Shopping Centre

Northern Territory Police are conducting Active Armed Offender (AAO) Practical Training for frontline members of Darwin Command.

Commencing on Wednesday, 17 July 2019, for five consecutive Wednesday’s, approximately 50 frontline uniform members will be taking part in an AAO Training from 6:30pm at Casuarina Shopping Centre. This exercise involves blank rounds being fired which will sound like live gunshots.

During the exercise some stores and restaurants will be open to the public, however, the remainder of the Centre will be closed off and not accessible.

Police are advising members of the public about this training to avoid causing alarm at a large contingent of uniformed officers converging upon Casuarina Police Station and Casuarina Shopping Centre over the following five weeks.
