Three people have died following a crash involving two vehicles on Braemar Road, Tekapo, Mackenzie District.
Police were called around 10.55am.
Initial indications suggest seven others received a range of injuries, some of which are serious.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
Police are investigating.
The Serious Crash Unit are also in attendance and assisting with a scene examination.
