As stated by Detective Inspector Rhys Johnston, Northland Police:
Police have now charged a person following the death of a 73-year-old man at an Ōmāpere address on Friday.
A 48-year-old man is due to appear in Whangārei District Court today charged with murder.
The homicide investigation continues.
