OECD Leaders’ Gathering and OECD Forum Virtual Events at 60th Anniversary of Signing of OECD Convention – 14

Media advisory

OECD Leaders will commemorate the 60th anniversary of the signing of the OECD Convention on 14 December 2020, inaugurating a series of events with key stakeholders in observance. While looking back at the OECD’s history – with a focus on the transformations of the last decade – Leaders and other participants will reflect on the global economic, social and environmental situation, particularly in the context of the COVID-19 crisis and recovery, and discuss the opportunities and challenges for multilateralism and the role of the OECD today.

The commemoration will be co-hosted by the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron; the President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez Pérez-Castejón; and the OECD Secretary-General, Angel Gurría. A number of other OECD Heads of State and Government will join panel discussions in person or via remote live participation. Additional leaders will share remarks via video throughout the programme.

The Leaders’ events will be accompanied by a series of stakeholder-focused debates, including a high-level panel hosted by Secretary-General Gurría and virtual OECD Forum events throughout the week. A full schedule is below.

REGISTRATION: All events will be open to media via webcast. Journalists may register to participate in the Forum virtual events.
