Off-duty officer charged with high-range PCA after crash at Ashcroft, NSW

An off-duty police officer has been charged with high-range PCA following a crash in Ashcroft today.

About 3.30pm today (Wednesday 2 November 2022), emergency services attended Maxwells Avenue, Ashcroft, following a crash between a Honda sedan and a Hilux utility.

The 25-year-old driver of the Honda was arrested after returning a positive roadside breath test.

The man – an off-duty officer Probationary Constable attached to a command within the South West Metropolitan Region – was taken to Liverpool Police Station where a breath analysis returned an alleged reading of 0.243.

He was issued a court attendance notice for high-range PCA and is due to appear in Liverpool Local Court on 14 December 2022.

The officer’s licence was suspended, and his duty status is under review.
