Officer charged – South West Metropolitan Region, NSW

A police officer attached to the South West Metropolitan Region has been charged with sexual offences following an investigation by Professional Standards Command.

In December 2018, an investigation commenced after a complaint was received about alleged sexual touching of a woman.

Following inquiries, a further allegation of sexual assault in July 2018 was also investigated.

Yesterday (Tuesday 27 August 2019), a 22-year-old probationary constable was arrested at Granville Police Station.

He was charged with sexual intercourse without consent and sexual touching.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at the Downing Centre Local Court on Thursday 19 September 2019.
