Officer charged – Southern Region 5 December, NSW

A police officer has been charged after allegedly accessing restricted information without authorisation.

The 47-year-old sergeant attached to a Police District in the Southern Region was issued a Court Attendance Notice for two counts of access/modify restricted data held in computer yesterday (Friday 4 December 2020).

It will be alleged in court that the officer accessed restricted information on two occasions in December 2019.

He is due to appear at Albury Local Court on Thursday 21 January 2021.

The officer’s duty status is under review.
