Officer issued NTAin Brisbane

A 55-year-old male senior constable from the Road Policing and Regional Support Command has been issued with a Notice to Appear for the alleged offence of misconduct in relation to public office.

The officer has been suspended following allegations relating to an enforcement incident at the Queensland state border on September 15.

He is scheduled to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on October 18.

A 20-year-old woman allegedly involved in the matter was issued with a penalty infringement notice after she allegedly entered Queensland in breach of the Chief Health Officer’s Border Direction. The woman remains in hotel quarantine.

In keeping with our commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability, we have undertaken to inform the public when an officer faces serious allegations of misconduct.

This does not mean the allegations against the officer have been substantiated.
