OMCG arrest at Gold Coast 21 June

Taskforce Maxima officers are investigating possible consorting offences following the arrest of a Mongol OMCG member yesterday on the Gold Coast.

As part of traffic operations, a motorcycle was seized and impounded for 90 days with the rider, a member of the Mongols OMCG, being unlicensed. The rider also tested positive to a roadside drug test.

Investigations will continue into potential consorting offences within Queensland’s jurisdiction.

Organised Crime Gangs Group Commander, Detective Superintendent Roger Lowe said the Queensland Police Service (QPS) is committed to disrupting crime gangs.

“This should be a warning to all criminal gangs, that the QPS is focused on disrupting their activities,” Detective Superintendent Lowe said.

“We will continue to work with other law enforcement jurisdictions to ensure we achieve this.”
