OMCG Firearm and Drug Seizure at Gold Coast

Today, officers from the Gold Coast Major and Organised Crime Squad and Taskforce Maxima executed a search warrant at a Southport address, locating and seizing six firearms, a silencer, ammunition and Rebels Outlaw Motorcycle Gang clothing buried in the back yard.

Police also located steroids, cannabis and Mongrel Mob colours and associated clothing.

Police arrested a 25-year-old man with links to the Rebels OMCG and Mongrel Mob and a 29-year-old male, both for unlawfully possessing weapons, possessing dangerous drugs and possessing explosives.

Both the Rebels OMCG and the Mongrel Mob are identified organisations under the Liquor Regulation 2002.

The offenders will appear in Southport Magistrate Court tomorrow.

“This is a significant seizure and we will continue to target gang members and their associates in an effort to prevent, disrupt and investigate their involvement in serious and organised crime,” Detective Senior Sergeant Ian Galpin said.
