Mirrabooka Detectives with the assistance of Morley Police attached to Operation Heat Shield, have charged two female juveniles after an incident on the Scarborough Foreshore on Saturday, 18 January 2020 in which two people were injured.
About 9.20pm, a 26-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman were walking toward their vehicle parked on Scarborough Beach Road. As they were walking it is alleged in an unprovoked attacked, a 15-year-old girl who was armed with scissors, threatened to stab both the victims before lunging at the woman and stabbing her in the side which punctured her lung. The woman also received several smaller wounds on her arm.
It is further alleged the 15-year-old girl and a 17-year-old girl who was with her, then assaulted both victims resulting in the man being stabbed to the wrist causing potential tendon damage.
Both victims were conveyed by ambulance to hospital.
The girls ran off when members of the public intervened and flagged down Operation Heat Shield officers who were patrolling nearby. The officers were able to respond quickly which enabled them to locate and arrest the offenders a short time later.
The 15-year-old from Waterford and the 17-year-old from Midland are due to appear before the Perth Children’s Court today, 20 January 2020, each charged with:-
• With Intent to do Grievous Bodily Harm Does Grievous Bodily Harm to Another; and
• With Intent to Do Grievous Bodily Harm Unlawfully Wounds Another.
