Police have conducted a high-visibility operation proactively targeting offenders in Orange this week.
Between 6pm Tuesday 26 September 2023 and 4am today (Thursday 27 September 2023), officers attached to Central West Police District, Criminal Investigations Unit, the Dog Unit and Macquarie Highway Patrol Command, were deployed in Orange in a high-saturation police operation targeting identified offenders and crime hotspots.
This operation allows police to engage with the public in highly-visible areas and in vast numbers, reinforcing that the police are there to protect the community all day, every day.

- 15 person/vehicle searches
Incidents of note
- About 10.45pm yesterday (Tuesday 26 September 2023), police attended a home on Torpy Street, Orange, to speak with a man. A 31-year-old man was arrested and taken to Orange Police Station. He was charged with an outstanding arrest warrant for assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and fail to appear in accordance with bail acknowledgment. He was refused bail and appeared at Orange Local Court yesterday (Wednesday 27 September 2023), where he was given conditional bail to appear at the same court on Tuesday 3 October 2023.
- About 1am today (Thursday 28 September 2023), police stopped a vehicle on Spring Street, Orange, for the purpose of a random breath test, which allegedly returned a positive result. The 20-year-old woman was arrested and taken to Orange Police Station for secondary breath test, allegedly returning a reading of 0.054. The woman was charged with never licensed person drive vehicle on road, and drive with low-range PCA. She was given conditional bail to appear at Orange Local Court on Thursday 12 October 2023.
