Outdoor dining update

Council is working on finalising its outdoor dining permit process as quickly as possible to support food businesses with their reopening preparations. We are expecting it to be live and ready for your applications through our website later this week.

Our temporary outdoor dining permit will not attract any fees and will be streamlined to have a fast turnaround time for assessment. Food businesses that have lodged their permit application online but do not receive their permit by the time outdoor dining is permitted by the State Government will still be able to trade, provided they have public liability insurance and that their outdoor dining furniture is set up in a safe location.

In the meantime, please view our Business Reopening page which contains a temporary outdoor dining checklist and FAQ’s.

If you are proposing to run outdoor dining on owners corporation or private land, Council consent may be required.
