Council’s outdoor pools will be reopening for the summer season from Saturday, 27 November, with social distancing and COVIDSafe measures in place.

On the weekend of 27-28 November, Healesville Outdoor Pool, Lilydale Outdoor Pool and Kilsyth Centenary Outdoor Pool will reopen to the community. The Olinda Community Pool will reopen on 5 December.

Belgrave Outdoor Pool reopened on Monday, 12 October for lap swimming only, with heating to better accommodate swimmers on mild weather days.

Since reopening, the pool has received a significant increase in visitors compared to the same time last year, with 2000 visits within the first three weeks of opening (up 47 per cent compared to 1363 visitors in the same period in 2019).

We’ve been undertaking maintenance works on our other outdoor pools in the meantime, making sure they’re ready for visitors and that plans are in place to keep all visitors safe.

The following conditions will apply for the Healesville, Lilydale and Kilsyth outdoor pools:

  • All visits to the pool must be booked ahead of time (via the pool website), for contact tracing and visitor number control.
  • Change rooms remain closed, with limited toilet facilities are available in the outdoor area
  • Masks must be worn at all times, except when in the pool
  • The pools are available for lap swimming only
