P-plate driver detected more than 200km/h in south

A teenager has been charged for allegedly being detected travelling at more than 200km Sydney’s south west.

Traffic and Highway Patrol officers attached to Campbelltown Highway Patrol were patrolling Hume Highway, St Andrews, when a Ford Focus sedan was allegedly detected travelling 201km/h in a signposted 110km/h zone about 9.40pm Saturday (Saturday 18 April 2020).

The vehicle was stopped, and the 19-year-old male driver produced a P2 licence. He was issued a Future Court Attendance Notice for drive speed dangerous to public, and P2 driver exceed over 100km/h over 45km/h.

His licence was suspended for six months and he is due to appear before Campbelltown Local Court on Tuesday 21 July 2020.
