Pair arrested on firearm charges at Doonside, NSW

Two men have been arrested after a vehicle was allegedly shot at in Sydney’s west yesterday.

About 2:25pm (Monday 20 May 2019), it is alleged that two men approached a red ute travelling east on Doonside Crescent, Doonside.

One of the men is alleged to have produced a firearm and discharged it towards the ute.

The two men returned to their vehicle, a red Hyundai Getz, before driving away from the scene.

Officers from the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command stopped the car a short time later in Rooty Hill.

The pair were arrested and taken to Blacktown Police Station.

There were no reported injuries.

A 25-year-old man was charged with discharge firearm etc intend to cause grievous bodily harm, fire firearm likely injure persons/property and acquire etc firearm – subject to prohibition order.

A 23-year-old man was charged with discharge firearm etc intend to cause grievous bodily harm and fire firearm likely injure persons/property.

Both men were bail refused to appear in court today (Tuesday 21 May 2019).
