ParknGo Mooloolaba Central ticketless system set to go

Sunshine Coast Council

The community is reminded that the introductory offer of free parking at ParknGo Mooloolaba Central finishes at midnight tonight (17 Jan).

A paid, ticketless parking system will be in place from tomorrow (Monday 18 January).

Cameras at the car park entrance will use automated number plate recognition technology to determine when a vehicle enters a car park. Upon leaving, users will pay an exit fee to activate the gate.

Payment can be made at two pay stations located on Level 1 (ground floor) near the lifts or at the car park exit barriers using a credit or debit card.

Pre-registered vehicles can proceed directly to the exit and the parking fee will be automatically charged to the user’s credit or debit card.

From Monday 1 February 2021, regular users of the car park will be able to register for a monthly parking pass ($100 per month). To register visit www.parkngo.com.au at least 24 hours prior to visiting the car park.

In line with council’s Parking Management Plan and the Local Area Parking Plans endorsed in 2017, parking fees of just $2.50 per hour (capped at $12.50 per day) will be introduced at ParknGo Mooloolaba Central from Monday, 18 January 2021, to proactively manage parking demand and turnover to increase business patronage.

Sunshine Coast Council’s ParknGo Mooloolaba Central ambassadors, dressed in blue ParknGo shirts, will continue to be on site to assist car park users up to and including Wednesday 27 January 2021.
